One of the few villages that hasn't felt the effect of tourists and holiday goers, Sissi is a charming little fishing village located on the east side of Crete.
Famous for its fresh fish and excellent chefs, you'll never be stuck for somewhere to eat in this quaint little fishing village.
One of the first things you'll see in Sissi is it's port and harbour. Carved over centuries by the Aegean sea, the port has an estuary shaped narrow bay which protects the boats and ships from the winds and storms in the winter months.
In fact, during the Cretan revolution, the small port of Sissi was used as an area to offload guns and munitions to arm the Lassithi rebels, due to its clandestine nature.
Near the port you will also find two small sandy beaches, both of which include a small beach bar and sunbeds.
